What's the Difference?
 

In sanitary piping systems, both 180 Degree Return Bends and 90 Degree Elbows are used to

change the direction of fluid flow. However, they serve different piping requirements.

180 Degree Return Bend

180° Return Bend, also known as a Buttweld 180 Degree Elbow, changes the flow direction by 180 degrees. It is commonly used for return lines, U-shaped piping, and compact layouts where the pipeline needs to reverse direction.

90 Degree Elbow

A 90° Elbow changes the flow direction by 90 degrees and is widely used to connect horizontal and vertical sections of sanitary piping.

Which One Should You Choose?

Choose a 180° Return Bend when the pipeline needs to reverse direction or form a compact return loop. A 90° Elbow is more suitable for standard right-angle changes in the piping system.
