The challenge of cutting stainless steel pipe
When cold working, all metals harden. Stainless steel tubes have hardening properties. When the stainless steel pipe or the surface of the stainless steel pipe contacts the stainless steel pipe, it will harden and become more and more difficult. Continue to cut with the same pressure and speed. The content of chromium and nickel makes it more difficult to cut or torch than ordinary carbon steel. The austenitic stainless steel pipe hardens quickly, but the cold working rate of the 400 series is only a little higher than that of ordinary carbon steel.
