Installing the Sanitary Butterfly Valve

2. Installation Steps

Connect the flange plates on both sides of the butterfly valve with the flange plates of the pipeline, ensuring the flange surfaces are flat and clean. Use the appropriate sealing pad to prevent leakage.

Use bolts to securely connect the flange plates, paying attention to the tightening sequence and torque requirements to ensure a firm and reliable connection.

Install the operating rod, connecting it to the butterfly valve and fixing the shaft. The operating rod should be perpendicular to the valve body, and the tightening torque should be appropriate.

Install the valve cover, aligning it with the valve body, and secure it with bolts.

3. Precautions

During the installation process, avoid damaging the butterfly valve, especially the valve body and valve disc, to maintain its sealing performance.

Before installation, verify that the material and medium of the butterfly valve are compatible to prevent failure or deformation.

Follow the butterfly valve's specifications strictly, including stress level and port size, during installation.

If the butterfly valve is not used for a long time, inspect it periodically to ensure it can open and close properly.

4. Post-Installation Inspection

Check the opening and closing of the butterfly valve to ensure smooth operation without any sticking.

Perform a leakage test to confirm the sealing performance of the butterfly valve and the installation location. This can be done by injecting water into the pipeline and observing for any leaks.

If possible, conduct a hydraulic test to assess the performance of the butterfly valve under different temperatures and pressures. This helps ensure the butterfly valve will function properly in actual use.
