Water Pump Technical Processing And Common Troubleshooting

Multistage centrifugal pump manufacturers share with you the technical treatment of water pumps and common troubleshooting.

One: Vibration during operation

1. Unstable pipeline support, loose water pump base or anchor bolts are common causes of vibration. Bolts must be tightened to avoid looseness.

2. There is gas in the liquid. Carefully check whether the connecting bolts of the sealing surfaces of the water pump and the water inlet pipeline are loose, whether the sealing gasket is damaged, and whether the pump body and pipeline system parts are damaged.

3. The water pump and the motor shaft are not concentric, and adjustments should be made. When the belt is rotated, the rotating belt is too loose or the joint contact is poor, which can also cause vibration. The impeller of the multistage centrifugal pump manufacturer is unbalanced. Impeller wear or blockage of individual impeller flow channels during operation can easily cause vibration. Sometimes, vibration is also caused by shaft bending and poor impeller balance.

Two: Increased noise during operation

1. Bearing noise: The sound source is the bearing installation part. Generally, an iron rod or a screwdriver is used to press against the bearing installation part. Listen with your ears, which is a rattling sound.
Motor noise: generally a whistling sound, the motor can only be replaced.

Cavitation noise: the sound source is in the pump cavity, crackling sound. 3. Motor heats up China Pump Technology Forum

The outer wall of the motor is hot, it may be running at overcurrent, you can close the outlet valve and adjust it to run within the rated current, or it may be a problem with the motor coil quality, then the motor can only be replaced.

2. Friction occurs in the rotating parts, the friction resistance increases, and the overcurrent may also make the motor hot. The motor should be stopped to check whether the rotor is flexible.

The motor bearing is hot, the bearing may be short of oil or damaged, and the bearing needs to be repaired or replaced.

The working voltage is too low, check the circuit and adjust the voltage.

No water comes out after starting: there is air in the pump or air accumulates in the water inlet pipe, or the bottom valve is not closed tightly and the water is not fully filled, the vacuum pump packing is seriously leaking, and the gate valve or flap door is not closed tightly.
Troubleshooting: Clear debris, replace damaged rubber pads, change the direction of the valve plate; tighten or replace new packing, close the gate valve or flap door; increase the amount of filling until there is no bubble at the vent plug; replace cracked pipes; reduce the head and press the nozzle of the water pump into the water 0.5 meters.

The pump does not turn when starting: the packing is too tight or the impeller and the pump body are stuck and blocked by debris, or the pump shaft, bearings, and leakage rings are rusted, or the pump shaft is severely bent.

Troubleshooting: Loosen the packing, dredge the water diversion groove; disassemble the pump body to remove debris and rust; remove the pump shaft to calibrate or replace a new pump shaft.

The heating bearing of the water pump is damaged: the gap between the rolling bearing or the bracket cover is too small; the pump shaft is bent or the two shafts are not concentric; the tape is too tight; there is a lack of oil or the oil quality is poor; the balance hole on the impeller is blocked, the impeller loses balance, and the thrust to one side is increased.
Troubleshooting: Replace the bearing; remove the rear cover, and install a gasket between the bracket and the bearing seat; adjust the pump shaft or the concentricity of the two shafts; loosen the tape tightness appropriately; add clean butter, and the butter accounts for 60% of the gap in the bearing; remove the blockage in the balance hole.

Insufficient flow after startup: The speed is not matched or the belt slips, causing the speed to be low; the installation angle of the axial flow pump blade is too small; the head is insufficient; the suction range is too high; the bottom valve, pipeline and impeller are partially blocked or the impeller is defective; the outlet pipe leaks seriously.

Troubleshooting: Restore the rated speed, remove the belt oil stains, and adjust the belt tightness; adjust the blade angle, and lower the installation position of the water pump; seal the leaking part of the water pump and press the packing; remove the blockage, replace the impeller; replace the leakage reduction ring, and block the leaking part.
